Yusuf Vows Urgent Action On Kano Water Crisis, Warns Against Illegal Diversion

Governor Abba Yusuf has pledged decisive action to resolve the ongoing water shortage in Kano, following an on-site assessment of critical facilities.

During an inspection of the Tamburawa Water Treatment Plant on Wednesday, the governor identified leaking pipelines and malfunctioning pumping systems as key factors behind the disruption in water supply.

He explained that the visit was aimed at uncovering the root causes of the problem and developing practical solutions to restore regular water distribution across the state capital.

Yusuf disclosed that repair works on damaged pipelines and the rehabilitation of faulty equipment would begin soon as part of efforts to improve supply.

He also warned against the illegal diversion of potable water, stressing that offenders would face strict penalties.

“Ensuring access to clean and potable water remains a top priority of this administration,” he said, reiterating his campaign commitment to the people of Kano.

The governor expressed confidence that the measures being implemented would significantly improve water infrastructure and provide much-needed relief to residents in the near future.
