Former Kaduna Central Aspirant Shettima Backs APC After Withdrawing From Senate Race

Former Kaduna Central senatorial aspirant Yerima Shettima has withdrawn from the race and declared his continued support for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Speaking at a press conference in Kaduna, Shettima said the decision came after broad consultations and consideration of the party’s overall interests.

He explained that his withdrawal reflected his dedication to party unity, discipline and collective advancement rather than political weakness.

According to him, loyalty to the APC and the need to maintain harmony within the party informed his decision to step aside from the contest.

Shettima pledged his unwavering support for the ruling party and all its candidates in the forthcoming elections.

He thanked party supporters, stakeholders and associates for standing by him throughout his political aspiration and encouraged them to remain calm and committed to the APC.

The former aspirant also appealed for reconciliation among aggrieved members of the party to promote peace and strengthen internal cohesion.

He commended the Capacity Movement under the leadership of Shehu Sani Sado, alongside members of his Campaign Council, for their loyalty and dedication during the campaign period.

Shettima further reaffirmed his support for President Bola Tinubu and Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani.

He added that he would continue to work towards the peace, unity and development of Kaduna State and Nigeria as a whole.
