The Nigerian Army has completed its second Chief of Army Staff (COAS) welfare flight for May, facilitating the movement of 341 personnel serving in the North East theatre of operations.
An operational report released on Sunday stated that the exercise was carried out on Saturday with the support of a chartered ValueJet aircraft.
According to the report, 167 personnel were airlifted into the Operation Hadin Kai theatre, while another 174 personnel were transported out of the operational area.
The Nigerian Army described the operation as seamless and without incident.
The report noted that the welfare flight scheme was introduced to strengthen troop welfare, maintain morale and ensure efficient rotation of personnel engaged in counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency duties.
It added that the total number of troops transported under the COAS welfare programme had risen to 32,765 since the initiative began.
The Army reiterated its commitment to maintaining welfare-oriented programmes aimed at supporting military personnel deployed in various operations across the country.
