The United Arab Emirates has accused Iran of carrying out a drone attack on commercial vessels linked to the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) in the Strait of Hormuz.
The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Monday that the attack, involving two drones, breached international law and violated United Nations Security Council resolutions protecting maritime navigation. No casualties were reported.
The ministry attributed the incident to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, describing the action as an attempt to use the strategic waterway for economic coercion.
It warned that such actions threaten regional security and the stability of global energy markets.
The UAE urged Iran to cease hostilities and guarantee safe passage through the strait, a critical route for global oil shipments.
ADNOC, one of the world’s leading oil and gas producers, plays a central role in the UAE’s economy and energy exports.
