The launch of South-West Agenda for Asiwaju (SWAGA) 2.0 in Akure on Wednesday was described by Gov. Lucky Aiyedatiwa as a key strategy to secure President Bola Tinubu’s victory in the 2027 elections.
Aiyedatiwa said the group’s renewed campaign would build on the administration’s achievements, including economic reforms, education stability, anti-insecurity measures, and enhanced international relations. “In a market, if you have a good product, it is easier to sell. We have a good product in our president,” he stated.
He called on SWAGA members to intensify grassroots mobilisation, stressing that polling-unit-level efforts would be crucial, with South-West states aiming to deliver at least one million votes each.
National Chairman of SWAGA, Adedayo Adeyeye, said the group had faced challenges convincing Nigerians of Tinubu’s leadership but now sees widespread acceptance. He also affirmed that the administration’s work in fuel supply, infrastructure, and education demonstrates strong governance.
SWAGA State Chairman, Mr Ifedayo Abegunde, said the support group had backed Tinubu since before his candidacy and projected that he could become the first president to win all 36 states of the federation.
