Accord Party Confident Of Adeleke Victory, Condemns Campaign Violence

The Accord Party says it is confident that Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke will retain office in the 15 August governorship election, citing what it described as widespread public support for the incumbent.

Speaking in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the party’s Lagos State Chairman, Mr Dele Oladeji, predicted that Adeleke would secure between 90 and 95 per cent of the votes cast.

Oladeji said the governor’s record of implementing people-oriented policies had earned him the support of voters across political divides.

He maintained that reports of campaign violence would not affect the outcome of the election, insisting that Adeleke remained the favourite to win.

The Accord Party chairman also condemned the reported incidents of violence and called for a peaceful campaign environment ahead of the poll.

Turning to his own political ambitions, Oladeji, the party’s Lagos West Senatorial candidate for the 2027 general election, expressed confidence of victory.

He said demographic analysis showed that young people constitute the majority of eligible voters in Lagos West, adding that the party would intensify efforts to engage them ahead of the election.
