The Nasarawa State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) says it will provide a level playing field for aspirants to test their popularity in the forthcoming party primaries.
Dr Aliyu Bello, the state APC chairman, gave the assurance during a press conference on Monday in Lafia.
According to him, the party remains firmly committed to the principles of internal democracy, noting that no aspirants will be disadvantaged as party guidelines will be strictly adhered to.
Bello said that the party had put in place a well-coordinated framework to ensure transparent, free, fair and credible primaries in Nasarawa State, in compliance with the electoral act, party constitution and the approved guidelines for the 2026 primaries.
Bello called on all party faithful to conduct themselves with maturity, restraint, and a high sense of responsibility throughout and after the electioneering period.
“Politics should not be a source of division, but rather a platform for strengthening our shared vision and collective aspirations.
” AS we move forward, we encourage continuous dialogue, mutual respect, and strict adherence to party guidelines,” Bello said.
He commended President Bola Tinubu’s administration for implementing far-reaching developmental programmes and reforms aimed at stabilising the economy, improving infrastructure and enhancing national security.
“In recognition of these laudable achievements and his unwavering commitment to the progress of Nigeria, we hereby endorse His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for a second term in office come 2027, to enable him consolidate on the gains already recorded,” Bello said.
The party also passed the vote of confidence in Gov. Abdullahi Sule for what it called his purposeful leadership, foresight, and unwavering commitment to the unity, stability and development of the state.
“Under his stewardship, the State has witnessed remarkable strides in infrastructure development, economic expansion, investment drive, and improved governance standards.
“His leadership has not only strengthened our party, but has also inspired confidence among the people,” he said.
On the emergence of a preferred aspirant for governorship, Bello said it was a product of wide-ranging consultations and reflects a deliberate effort to promote continuity, stability, collective interest of the party and the state.
