Gov. Monday Okpebholo of Edo on Sunday led a host of dignitaries to a special Thanksgiving Service held in honour of late Esther Idahosa, mother of his Deputy; Dennis Idahosa.
The thanksgiving service, organised for the matriarch of the Idahosa family, took place at the Living Faith Church, Sapele Road, Benin.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the service was attended by former Edo governor; Lucky Igbinedion, former deputy governor; Lucky Imasuen, APC officials, lawmakers, commissioners, and other dignitaries.
Pastor Emmanuel Ebiwoye preached from Mark 4:11 on faith and reliance on God, and prayers were offered for the Idahosa family and for peace and progress in Edo.
The event was part of activities honouring the memory of the late Mrs Idahosa.
She was described as a devoted mother and woman of virtue who died at 95.
