Beijing Backs Iran–US Truce And Praises Pakistan’s Mediation Role

China has voiced its support for a newly reached ceasefire between Iran and the United States, describing it as a positive step towards easing tensions.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning made the remarks on Wednesday, commending mediation efforts by countries including Pakistan.

The agreement, reached shortly before a deadline imposed by US President Donald Trump, will see both nations observe a two-week ceasefire and engage in talks in Pakistan.

According to Mao, China has long advocated for resolving conflicts through diplomatic and political means rather than military action. She stressed that dialogue remains key to securing long-term peace and stability across the Middle East and Gulf region.

Mao also noted that China has played an active role in encouraging peaceful negotiations.
