Army Urges Newly Decorated Officers To Strengthen Operational Effectiveness

Maj.-Gen. Abubakar Wase has called on newly promoted officers of the 1 Division, Nigerian Army, to contribute meaningfully to ongoing security operations within their areas of responsibility.

He said the Division remained committed to maintaining security and stability, stressing the need for officers to demonstrate professionalism in command roles.

The officers decorated at the ceremony include Lt.-Cols. Nanmwaa Selchum, Abdulkarim Muhammad, Wobase Emmanuel, Abdullahi Abubakar and Christopher Ineme.

Speaking on behalf of the promoted officers, Lt.-Col. Selchum expressed gratitude to the Chief of Army Staff for the confidence reposed in them and pledged renewed loyalty to the Nigerian Army’s constitutional mandate.

He assured that the officers would discharge their duties with increased dedication and exemplary leadership.

The President of the Mess Committee and Commander, 41 Engineer Brigade, Brig.-Gen. Sharif Aremu, commended the GOC for his mentorship and commitment to professional development within the Division.

The ceremony featured the symbolic decoration of the officers by the GOC, assisted by family members and senior officers, followed by a reception and group photographs.
