APC Sets Out 2027 Election Roadmap With Primary Dates And Fees

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released a detailed timetable for its activities ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 general elections, providing a roadmap for its internal nomination process.
The document, endorsed by National Organising Secretary Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, outlines deadlines for the sale and submission of forms, as well as schedules for primaries and appeals across all elective positions.
Form sales are due to run from 25 April to 2 May, with a submission deadline of 4 May 2026.
The party has scheduled its presidential primary for 15–16 May. This will be followed by House of Representatives primaries on 18 May, Senate contests on 20 May, State Assembly primaries on 21 May, and governorship races on 23 May.
Appeals are to be conducted in rapid succession, beginning with the presidential appeal on 18 May. Appeals for the House of Representatives, Senate, State Assemblies and governorship positions will follow on 20, 21, 23 and 25 May respectively.
The APC also confirmed the cost of participation for aspirants. Presidential candidates must pay ₦30 million for the expression of interest form and ₦70 million for nomination. Governorship aspirants will pay ₦10 million and ₦40 million respectively.
Senate aspirants are required to pay ₦3 million and ₦17 million, while those seeking seats in the House of Representatives will pay ₦1 million and ₦9 million. State Assembly aspirants will pay ₦1 million for expression of interest and ₦15 million for nomination.
The party noted that women, young people and persons with disabilities will receive a 50% reduction on nomination fees, paying only the expression of interest charge in full.
In its statement, the APC said the timetable reflects its pledge to uphold transparency and credibility in its primaries, aimed at strengthening internal democratic processes.
