The Founder of Zion Flames Prophetic and Intercessory Ministry, Apostle Momo Promise, on Tuesday called on the South African government to take decisive action against perpetrators of xenophobic violence.
In a statement made available to journalists in Abuja, the cleric urged Nigerians at home and in the diaspora to remain calm and steadfast despite growing tensions.
He attributed Africa’s slow pace of development to persistent disunity among its nations, warning that division continues to hinder the continent’s progress.
“We as Africans must come together and unite; we must see each other as one. This is why we are far behind,” he said.
Apostle Promise identified tribalism and xenophobia as major obstacles to Africa’s advancement on the global stage, cautioning that continued division could further weaken the continent.
“I urge the South African government to take decisive action against the perpetrators of violence,” he added.
The cleric, however, described the attacks as the actions of a few individuals, noting that the majority of South Africans are peace-loving.
“I have a lot of followers in South Africa; they are good people. But it is just a few bad eggs that are doing this,” he said.
He expressed concern over the recurring incidents, warning that such violence poses a serious threat to Africa’s unity and collective growth.
Apostle Promise reiterated the need for a united Africa, stressing that lasting prosperity can only be achieved in an atmosphere of mutual respect, love and harmony.
