The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), has graduated 62 senior officers from the 13th Command Course.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony of participants of the Immigration Command and Staff College (ICSC), Sokoto, the Comptroller-General, NIS, Mrs Kemi Nandap expressed the Service’s unwavering commitment to leadership development.
In a statement by the Service Public Relations Officer (SPRO), Akinsola Akinlabi on Sunday in Abuja, Nandap also reaffirmed commitment to institutional capacity building following the development.
She however, charged the 62 graduating senior officers to uphold professionalism, integrity and excellence in the discharge of their duties.
The CG was represented by the Assistant Comptroller-General (ACG) in charge of the Directorate of Human Resource Management, Mr Samuel Agba.
She said the officers had undergone a three-month intensive training programme focused on strategic leadership, border security and migration management.
She urged the officers, drawn from commands and formations across the country, to apply the knowledge and skills acquired during the course in strengthening the service’s operations.
“NIS remains resolute in building a highly professional, disciplined and technology-driven workforce capable of responding effectively to emerging migration and border security challenges,”she said.
Nandap urged the graduands to justify the confidence reposed in them by demonstrating integrity, accountability, innovation and transformational leadership in the discharge of their responsibilities.
She said the service would continue to invest in capacity building to equip its personnel with the competencies required to effectively safeguard the nation’s borders and deliver efficient migration management.
Earlier, the Commandant of the Immigration Command and Staff College, Mr A.D. Bagari, congratulated the officers on the successful completion of the rigorous training programme.
Bagari urged them to apply the knowledge and leadership skills acquired during the course to improve operational effectiveness.
He also charged them to remain responsive to the demands of public service and continue to demonstrate vigilance in securing Nigeria’s borders.
He said the successful completion of the course marked another milestone in the service’s efforts to strengthen leadership capacity and institutional excellence.
