The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Unity Support Group has expressed concern over reports alleging that Senator Abdul’aziz Yari held a closed-door meeting with some opposition figures, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
In a statement issued on Wednesday in Abuja by its Zonal Coordinator and Convener, Dr. Haruna Sadauki, the group described the report as worrisome, urging party members to exercise caution in their engagements with opposition figures.
According to the group, such interactions, if confirmed, could raise questions within the party, particularly at a time when internal cohesion is being emphasised ahead of the 2027 general elections.
It cautioned that unity and discipline within the APC remain critical to sustaining support for the administration’s development agenda and national objectives.
The group further urged Senator Yari and other party leaders to remain focused on strengthening party structures and collective goals rather than engagements that may be subject to political interpretation.
While acknowledging Yari’s position as a prominent party figure, the group stressed the need for greater responsibility in managing political engagements.
