Members of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have endorsed the party’s plan to produce its executives at all levels through consensus.
The decision was announced by the House Majority Leader, Mr Suleiman Azara, following the APC’s ninth caucus meeting held on Tuesday in Lafia.
Mr Azara said the lawmakers’ support for consensus was driven by the need to maintain unity and avoid disputes among party faithful, adding that the legislators had full confidence in the party leadership.
He explained that the caucus meeting provided an opportunity for members to deliberate on strategies to strengthen the party and sustain its dominance in the state beyond the 2027 general elections.
The Majority Leader said the lawmakers had adopted the resolutions reached by party stakeholders at an earlier meeting at the Government House, particularly on arrangements for the forthcoming congresses.
“We have agreed with the party’s position on consensus in the interest of unity, peace, progress and development of the party,” he said, adding that the legislators remained loyal to the APC and its leadership.
Mr Azara assured party members that APC lawmakers would continue to work closely with stakeholders and the state government to promote peace, teamwork and development in Nasarawa State.
