Mr Seyi Tinubu has congratulated Venerable Ademola Arowolo on his election as National Chairman of the Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN).
Tinubu, in a statement issued on Sunday in Abuja, described Arowolo’s victory as well-deserved and reflective of his dedication to the church and Nigerian youth.
He noted that Arowolo previously served as Chairman of YOWICAN South-West Zone before his elevation to the national leadership.
Tinubu said the election outcome reflected Arowolo’s exemplary leadership qualities and steadfast commitment to service.
“Congratulations to Ademola Arowolo on your well-deserved victory as National Chairman.
“This achievement is a testament to your dedication, leadership, and unwavering commitment to service,” he stated.
Tinubu prayed for divine guidance and success for the new chairman and expressed confidence that his tenure would promote unity and moral leadership among Christian youths nationwide.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Arowolo’s emergence comes as YOWICAN intensifies efforts to mobilise young Christians for nation-building.
The new chairman is expected to leverage his clerical background and zonal leadership experience to advance youth-focused initiatives and strengthen collaboration within the body.
Expectations are high for programmes addressing youth unemployment, promoting interfaith harmony and empowering the next generation of leaders.
In his acceptance remarks, Arowolo described his emergence as a ‘call to service’ and pledged commitment to improving the capacity and economic wellbeing of Christian youths.
Addressing the nation’s security challenges, particularly kidnapping and terrorism, Arowolo revealed plans to establish an internal security framework to support existing national agencies.
YOWICAN remains the umbrella platform advocating the interests of Christian youths within the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
