A former Director of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), Mr Galadima Yusuf, has said that Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas, made the right decision by defecting to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking on Monday in Jalingo during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Yusuf described the move as a major boost for Taraba State.
He explained that membership of the ruling party at the centre would open doors to greater federal support and development opportunities for the state.
Yusuf, a retired FCDA official and APC stalwart in Taraba, appealed to the people of the state to support Governor Kefas, stressing that collective backing was essential for the administration to achieve its transformation agenda.
He said he was fully committed to supporting the governor, expressing confidence in Kefas’ ability to deliver good governance and meaningful progress.
The APC chieftain also commended President Bola Tinubu and party leaders for standing with the Taraba government and people during the governor’s formal defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC on Saturday.
According to Yusuf, Governor Kefas’ decision to align with the APC showed political wisdom and a clear understanding of President Tinubu’s development vision, which he said would help reposition Taraba for growth.
He reiterated his call on residents to unite behind the governor, assuring them that the move to the APC would bring tangible benefits to the state.
NAN reports that Governor Kefas was formally received into the APC by President Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yelwatda and other senior party figures.
