A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr Abiodun Salami, has applauded President Bola Tinubu for appointing retired General Chris Musa as Minister of Defence, describing it as a move in the right direction.
Speaking with NAN, Salami urged the minister to justify the confidence placed in him by taking bold steps to tackle banditry, kidnapping, and insurgency head-on. He said Musa must prioritise soldiers’ welfare, equipment provision, and morale-boosting measures to enable the military to defeat terrorists.
Salami added that the minister should use his new role to reposition the Armed Forces and weed out individuals sabotaging counter-terror operations. He further called on both the military and citizens to support Musa, stressing that national cooperation was essential for success.
