Ambrey International’s Relationship with Nigerian Partners Threatens To Collapse

The relationship between Ambrey International, a global maritime security firm, and its Nigerian partners may be on the brink of collapse, with mounting allegations of breach of trust and unpaid debts. Ambrey International is known for providing maritime security to international shipping companies across West Africa and has a presence in several West African countries.

Local providers in Nigeria have expressed their dissatisfaction with the company, citing alterations to payment terms and delayed payments to local service providers, while charging international clients upfront. The mounting debts owed to local partners have also not been spared, causing strain on the relationship that has been in existence for the past five years.

Ambrey International has also faced accusations of unethical practices, including underpricing of services and deploying sub-standard vessels for escort services in Nigerian territorial waters. Despite these allegations, attempts to reach Ambrey International’s Managing Director, Chris Charnley, for comments have proved futile.

The allegations levelled against Ambrey International threaten to erode the company’s business base in Nigeria, especially as its local partners are the backbone of its operations in the country. If not addressed promptly, the situation may escalate, leading to a significant impact on the company’s operations in Nigeria and West Africa as a whole
