The organiser of a new civic initiative in Nigeria has launched a 72-hour writing marathon to highlight what he calls President Bola Tinubu’s “courageous” reforms and to encourage citizens to engage in dialogue about the country’s direction.
At a news conference in Abuja on Sunday, Shuaibu Ishaq, convener of the Write-A-Thon, said the project would result in a book titled The Last Card: Why it must be Tinubu (Again). He described it as both a tribute to Tinubu’s policy choices and an effort to inspire reflection on Nigeria’s collective future.
Ishaq argued that President Tinubu has demonstrated resilience “in the face of immense pressure,” insisting that his leadership is laying the groundwork for long-term national progress.
“This is conceived by a common man but borne of duty,” he said. “It is a way of honouring a leader committed to putting tomorrow above political convenience today.”
The compendium is scheduled for presentation to the President on Nigeria’s 65th Independence Day. Ishaq also used the platform to call for a broader overhaul of the country’s value system.
