Wike To Unveil 54 Heavy-duty Machines To Strengthen Edo’s Infrastructure Development

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, will on Thursday inaugurate 54 units of construction equipment to strengthen infrastructural development across the 18 local government areas of  Edo.

Dr Patrick Ebojele, Chief Press Secretary to Gov. Monday Okpebholo of Edo, stated this in a press release made available to the News Agency of Nigeria on Monday in Lagos.

According to Ebojele, the equipment acquired by the state government underscores the Okpebholo administration’s commitment to practical governance, genuine infrastructure renewal, and the strengthening of local government structures.

“The equipment — including graders, excavators, rollers, and other heavy-duty machines — is expected to significantly boost road construction, rural access projects, drainage rehabilitation, and other community-driven infrastructure works.

“By placing critical tools directly in the hands of local councils, the government aims to fast-track development at the grassroots level and reduce bureaucratic bottlenecks.

“This initiative is a strategic intervention designed to empower council leadership, stimulate economic activity in rural communities, and deliver tangible dividends of democracy across Edo’s three senatorial districts,” he said.

Expected at the inauguration ceremony are top government officials, political stakeholders, traditional rulers, and community leaders.
