Wike Praises Tinubu’s Role In Accelerating FCT Development

Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has said strong backing from President Bola Tinubu is behind the ongoing surge in infrastructure projects across Abuja.

Following an inspection tour on Wednesday, Mr Wike said the President’s close monitoring of projects and insistence on quality delivery had boosted performance across the territory.

According to him, the administration’s routine site visits ensure contractors maintain both pace and standards.

The minister commended progress on the Arterial Road S1 project in Kaura District, noting that it was on track for completion within the next five months.

He added that the Obafemi Awolowo Way (N5) extension, which links several districts including Gwarimpa and Karmo, had been fully completed and was ready for inauguration.

At the Nigerian Law School, Mr Wike confirmed the completion of staff housing units, while assessing ongoing hostel developments.

He praised the contractor handling the female hostel for steady progress but expressed dissatisfaction with the slower pace of work on the male hostel, despite both projects commencing at the same time.

Mr Wike also revealed plans for a new auditorium at the institution, with construction set to begin soon.

He maintained that the administration’s achievements were driven by strong leadership, effective supervision and a commitment to delivering projects on schedule.
