Former Imo State Chief of Staff and governorship candidate, Mr Uche Nwosu, has revalidated his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), firmly denying rumours of a possible defection to another party.
The revalidation took place during the APC’s ongoing e-registration exercise in Eziama Obaire Ward, Nkwerre Local Government Area of Imo State.
In a statement released on Monday, Nwosu urged his supporters and members of the community to register with the party and participate actively in political affairs, emphasising the role of grassroots involvement in building a strong democracy.
He dismissed speculation linking him with the African Democratic Congress (ADC), stating that he was a founding member of the APC and had no plans to leave the party.
“I remain a loyal and committed member of the APC. I will not leave a party I helped to establish,” Nwosu said.
He further reaffirmed the loyalty of former Imo State Governor, Senator Rochas Okorocha, and members of the Rescue Mission political movement to the ruling party.
The exercise attracted a wide range of party leaders and stakeholders, including ward officials, the ward councillor, the President-General of Eziama Obaire, and leaders of the Ugwumba Movement.
Traditional and political leaders, including the Eze-elect of the community and former local government council chairmen from Nkwerre, Orsu and Isu areas, were also in attendance.
