Türkiye’s consulate general in the northwestern Syrian city of Aleppo resumed its operations on Monday, Turkish state media reported.
A video aired by the local media showed Turkish officials raising the Turkish flag at the consulate building, 13 years after it was closed due to the Syrian civil war.
Burhan Koroglu, the acting charge d’affaires at the Turkish embassy in Damascus, said the Turkish diplomatic mission in Syria would contribute to the development of commercial, military, cultural, and political relations between the two countries.
“In the upcoming period, the relations between Türkiye and Syria would develop even further.
“Our brotherhood, which has lasted for over 1,000 years, will grow stronger and continue to deepen,” Koroglu said. (Xinhua/NAN)
