Tinubu’s Vision Realised: Dangote Refinery Takes Shape

Aliko Dangote, Chairman of the Dangote Group, hailed the Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals Complex as a creation of President Bola Tinubu during the president’s visit to the site in Lagos on Thursday.

“It is with great pleasure that I welcome Your Excellency to the Dangote Refinery and Petrochemicals Complex and to inaugurate this concrete road and other roads that you have graciously approved,” Mr Dangote remarked.

He stressed that the complex is, in many respects, a product of Mr Tinubu’s vision. “The Lekki Free Trade Zone, where this industrial complex is located, was established during your tenure as governor of Lagos. Today, Your Excellency, you are witnessing the tangible outcomes of that foresight,” he added.

Mr Dangote praised Mr Tinubu as a visionary leader, stating, “What you have seen today is merely the beginning; we have just started.”

He highlighted one of the transformative initiatives of the Tinubu administration, the ‘Naira for Crude Policy.’ Mr Dangote described this policy as a significant testament to the administration’s dedication to economic recovery and national sovereignty.

“This bold initiative has allowed us to consistently lower product prices and ensure availability for the benefit of Nigerians. It has also played a crucial role in stabilising the prices of petrol, diesel, jet fuel, LPG, and polypropylene to their lowest levels,” he explained.

Mr Dangote noted the positive impact on currency stability, which is essential for effective economic policy and business budgeting. He also commended the administration’s newly introduced ‘Nigeria First Policy’, aimed at reducing dependence on foreign goods and services and prioritising local investments.

“This aligns with our corporate vision of producing what we consume to foster self-sufficiency in meeting our people’s basic needs. Importation brings poverty and exports jobs. We must all embrace the ‘Nigeria First’ policy,” he concluded.
