President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday swore in five newly appointed Permanent Secretaries to fill existing vacancies in the federal civil service.
The brief ceremony, held at the State House in Abuja, took place ahead of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting presided over by the President.
The new permanent secretaries are Alhaji Abdulkarim Ibrahim (North Central), Dr John Ezeamama, Dr Abdul Sule Garba (North West), Dr Ishiyaku Mohammed (North East), and Dr Ukaire Binyerem Chigbowu (South East). President Tinubu subsequently administered the oath of office to the appointees.
In addition, the President swore in the Chairman of the National Population Commission (NPC), Aminu Yusuf, along with two other commissioners.
The FEC observed a minute of silence in honour of former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Joy Ogwu, who passed away on 13 October at the age of 79.
