President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended the tenure of Mrs Kemi Nanna Nandap as Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), citing her contributions to national security and institutional reform.
Nandap, who officially took the reins on 1 March 2024, was initially set to serve until 31 August 2025. With her tenure now extended, she continues her historic role as the third female Comptroller-General in the Service’s history, following in the footsteps of Rose Uzoma and Caroline Wura-Ola Adepoju.
In a statement released in Abuja on Monday, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Bayo Onanuga, praised Nandap’s tenure for accelerating border control improvements, streamlining immigration procedures, and supporting national security frameworks.
The President applauded her leadership and called on her to sustain momentum in implementing the Service’s strategic goals under the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
He also reiterated his administration’s commitment to strengthening the Nigeria Immigration Service, ensuring it is fully equipped to protect the nation’s territorial integrity and manage migration in a safe and lawful manner.
