President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday held a private working lunch with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace in Paris.
The meeting formed part of Tinubu’s 10-day working vacation in Europe, which includes stops in France and the United Kingdom.
Presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga confirmed the engagement in a captioned photograph released to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja.
While details of the discussions were not disclosed, NAN explained that a “working private visit” typically refers to a trip that is largely personal but during which the visitor also undertakes official engagements.
Tinubu departed Abuja on September 4 for France, with Onanuga noting that the trip is part of the President’s annual leave for 2025.
“He will spend the period between France and the UK and then return to the country,” Onanuga said.
