Tinubu Baking A New Cake’ For Nigerians – Nana Shettima

Wife of the Vice President, Hajiya Nana Shettima, has described President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a visionary leader who is “baking a new cake” for Nigerians—one that will benefit not just the present generation, but children and grandchildren yet to come.

Speaking in Maiduguri, Borno State, during an annual Ramadan feast attended by women groups, students, and community leaders, the Vice President’s wife praised the administration’s economic reforms, empowerment programmes, and investments across key sectors, saying they are laying the foundation for a better, more prosperous Nigeria.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is baking a new cake for us that are alive today, and for the Nigerian children and grandchildren that are coming behind us,” she said. “He is ably supported by our lovely First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, and they both mean well for this country.”

called on Nigerians to continue supporting the administration through prayers and constructive engagement, urging citizens to move away from politically motivated criticism and instead offer thoughtful suggestions that can guide policy.

“We should not forget him and his subordinates in our prayers,” she added, assuring that the President has the best interests of Borno and the entire country at heart.

She also lauded the First Lady’s Renewed Hope Initiative, noting its impact on vulnerable groups including women, children, and people living with disabilities.

Other dignitaries at the event echoed her sentiments. Dr Asabe Bashir, Director General of the Maryam Babangida Centre for Women Development, urged citizens to carry forward the spiritual discipline of Ramadan and thanked President Tinubu for choosing a Vice President from Borno State.

“We must continue to pray for the administration of President Bola Tinubu because if it succeeds, we succeed,” she said.

Also speaking, Speaker of the Youth Assembly of Nigeria, Tijjani Abubakar, commended the President’s support for youth empowerment, while Dr Martins Ekunke, representing South-South, Yoruba and Igbo communities in Borno, praised Senator Oluremi Tinubu’s advocacy for people living with HIV/AIDS.

The event drew a wide array of attendees, including the wives of top Borno State legislators, female commissioners, political appointees, students, and community leaders—all united in their call for prayerful support for the Tinubu administration.
