Mr. Theophilus Okoka has officially assumed duty as the Controller of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) Akwa Ibom Command, taking over from Mr. Frank Okonkwo, who retired after 35 years of meritorious service.
The formal handover ceremony, held at the Command’s headquarters in Uyo, marked a seamless transition of leadership. Outgoing Controller Okonkwo expressed gratitude to God, the Federal Government, the Service leadership, and personnel for their support during his tenure, and urged them to extend the same loyalty and professionalism to his successor.
Okoka pledged to sustain the achievements of his predecessor while focusing on strengthening security, staff welfare, and inmate reformation, in line with the core mandates of NCoS. He also called for the cooperation of officers, stakeholders, and the public to ensure effective custodial management and successful non-custodial operations across the state.
