Sultan Of Sokoto Condoles With Family Of Late Sheikh Dahiru Usman-Bauchi

The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, has visited the family of the late Sheikh Dahiru Usman-Bauchi in Bauchi to offer his condolences.

According to a statement by the Sultanate Council’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Aminu Haliru-Gidadawa, the Sultan was received by Bauchi State Governor Bala Muhammad and the Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji Rilwanu Adamu.

The Sultan described Dahiru-Bauchi’s death as “a loss to the world, in recognition of his contributions to peaceful coexistence initiatives and the spread of Islamic teachings.” He urged children, Islamic scholars, and the public to emulate the late scholar in promoting peace, understanding, and moral values, while praying that Allah forgives his shortcomings and rewards his good deeds.

Alhaji Ibrahim Dahiru-Bauchi, the deceased’s son, thanked the Sultan and well-wishers for their support and prayers.

Sheikh Dahiru Usman-Bauchi, leader of the Tijjaniyya Muslim Brotherhood and one of Nigeria’s most influential Islamic scholars, passed away on Thursday, November 27, at the age of 101. Renowned as a teacher, preacher, and notable exegete of the Holy Qur’an, he was widely respected for his advocacy of peace, piety, and moderation.
