Police in Kano State have recovered a Toyota Sienna vehicle worth ₦20 million that was stolen in Maiduguri earlier this month.

The Kano State Police Command confirmed the recovery in a statement released on Sunday by its Public Relations Officer, CSP Abdullahi Kiyawa. The vehicle was stolen on 5 January 2026 and recovered two days later, on 7 January, through intelligence-driven patrols.

Mr Kiyawa said four suspects were currently being investigated in connection with the crime.

Following verification of ownership documents, the Commissioner of Police, Mr Ibrahim Bakori, approved the release of the vehicle to its owner, Mr Ali Alti.

The command praised the dedication of its officers and thanked the public for providing useful information that aided the recovery. It further urged residents to remain vigilant, particularly when hiring domestic workers, as part of efforts to curb criminal activities.
