Stephanie Linus Set To Produce Epic Movie Based On Aba Women’s Riot

Award-winning actress and filmmaker, Stephanie Linus, has announced her latest project, an epic movie based on the historic Aba Women’s Riot of 1929.

Stephanie Linus is a multi-award-winning actress, filmmaker, and philanthropist. Asides her many and celebrated acting roles, she is best known for her critically acclaimed movie Dry, which highlights the issue of child marriage in Nigeria, and for being the producer of the popular TV show Make Me Fabulous.

She is also the founder of the Stephanie Linus Foundation which focuses on maternal and child health.

The Aba Women’s Riot, also known as the Women’s War, was a historic event in Eastern Nigeria where thousands of Igbo women organized a massive revolt against the British colonial authorities and their local collaborators.

The riot was fueled by the oppressive taxation policies of the colonial government and the imposition of warrant chiefs, who were appointed to administer the local communities.

As a tribute to the brave women who fought for justice and freedom in the face of oppression, Stephanie Linus has decided to produce a movie that will tell their story to a global audience. The movie will be a stirring tale of courage, resilience, and hope.

“I am excited to tell the world about the Aba Women’s Riot and its impact on Nigeria’s history,” said Stephanie Linus. “This is a story that deserves to be told, and I am honored to be a part of it. The women who led this revolt not only changed the course of history but also paved the way for future generations.”

The movie, which is currently in production and set for release later this year, will feature an all-star cast of Nigerian and international actors. Stephanie Linus will produce the movie under her production company, Next Page Productions.
