Shettima: Nigeria Can Be A Global Power If Citizens Embrace Peace

Vice-President Kashim Shettima has said Nigeria has the potential to be one of the world’s greatest nations if its citizens learn to live together in tolerance and peace.

Shettima made the remarks on Wednesday in Jos, Plateau State, during a visit to the palace of Gbong Gwom Jos and Chairman of the Plateau State Council of Chiefs and Emirs, Jacob Gyang-Buba. He stressed that Nigerians share a common heritage, and what unites them outweighs divisions.

The vice-president was in the state to receive Governor Caleb Mutfwang into the All Progressives Congress (APC). He described traditional rulers as key pillars of society, praising their role in promoting peace among their subjects.

Shettima also lauded the cordial relationship between APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda and Governor Mutfwang, saying the political realignment would enhance peace, stability, and democratic dividends for Plateau State.

Gbong Gwom Jos called for increased security and national reconciliation, urging Nigerians to respect one another and reject violence. He described the political realignment as a positive development for both the state and the nation.
