The Director-General, National Institute for Sports (NIS), Mr Philip Shaibu, says that the partnership between BetPawa and the Nigeria National League (NNL) will uplift and motivate players.
Shaibu stated this in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media, Mr Ben Ogbemudia on Wednesday in Abuja.
He said the partnership would have a positive impact, echoing the sentiments of the Nigeria Football Federation( NFF) president and others.
The NIS boss emphasised the importance of funding and welfare for athletes, including healthcare and financial support
He commended BetPawa’s partnership with the NNL, believing it would boost the economy and improve players lives.
Shaibu said that the NIS was working on “housekeeping” and improving its systems to attract more partners and develop quality coaches and athletes.
He expressed happiness about the inclusion of female teams in the initiative, recognising their current success and contributions to Nigerian sports
