Senator Mohammed Sani Musa, CON, representing Niger East Senatorial District, on Friday paid a condolence visit to the Emir of Zazzau Suleja, His Royal Highness Alhaji Awwal Ibrahim, over the death of his wife, Hajia Rahmatu Awwal Ibrahim.
The Senator, who also chairs the Senate Committee on Finance, arrived the Emir’s palace early in the afternoon and was received by senior palace officials before being ushered into a private session with the monarch. Sources at the palace said the discussion centred on prayers, sympathy and words of comfort to the Emir and his family.
After the private engagement, Senator Musa joined members of the royal household and palace community to offer prayers for the repose of the late Hajia Rahmatu, described by many in the emirate as a quiet pillar of support and a respected mother figure.
The Senator said the loss was not only a personal tragedy to the Emir but also a significant moment of mourning for the entire Suleja Emirate, noting that the deceased left behind a legacy of kindness, modesty and service to others.
Accompanying the Senator were Alhaji Babasule Bisalla, Sarkin Shanun Suleja and Director General of the Niger–FCT Border Commission; Chairman of Suleja Local Government APC, Hon. Kabiru Jazu; and other political associates and community leaders.
The Senator prayed for Allah’s mercy upon the deceased and for strength for the Emir’s family as they navigate the period of grief.
