Sen Yari To Sponsor Medical Bills Of Zamfara Market Explosion Victims

Sen Abdul’Aziz Yari (APC-Zamfara) says he will sponsor the medical bills for the victims of gun powder explosion that injured over 40 persons at Talata Mafara weekly market.

Alhaji Sha’aya’u Sarkinpawa, the Zonal Coordinator, Sen. Yari’s Constituency Office, Talata Mafara, disclosed this to newsmen, in Talata Mafara on Wednesday.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Talata Mafara Council Chairman, Alhaji Yahaya Yari, had earlier confirmed the death of two persons with 42 hospitalised, following the incident.
NAN also reports that the locally made gun powder explosion occured on Tuesday, at the weekly market at Talata Mafara town of Zamfara.
The incident occurred in the afternoon, while activities at the market were at peak, at a place where locally made guns were displayed for sale.
Sarkinpawa said that Yari, a former Zamfara governor, had directed the immediate evacuation of all the victims to Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital Sokoto, for proper and adequate treatment.
While revealing that Yari had received the sad news of the terrible incident with shock and worries, the zonal coordinator said Sen. Yari assured to foot all the medical bills.
“As I am speaking to you, following the directives, we have evacuated over 40 victims to Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital, Sokoto, for urgent medical attention.
“We are going to sponsor all their medical bills as directed by Sen. Yari.
“We express gratitude to Allah for the early response by the security agencies and volunteers for calming the situation and brought it under controll,” he said. (NAN)
