Sen. Ahmed Wadada Denies Withdrawing From 2027 Nasarawa Governorship Race

Senator Ahmed Wadada, a leading aspirant for the 2027 Nasarawa State governorship, has denied reports that he withdrew from the race.

In a statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant, Mr Sam Israel, Wadada described the viral report as a “fabrication” circulated by faceless political actors threatened by his growing popularity and state-wide support.

Israel affirmed that Wadada remains fully in the contest, highlighting his credibility, accessibility, and broad-based support across ethnic, religious, and generational lines. He emphasised that ongoing consultations, solidifying structures, and engagement with stakeholders demonstrate Wadada’s commitment to the race.

The aide urged residents to ignore the false claims, stressing that Wadada’s focus is on inclusive, development-driven leadership that consolidates gains, attracts investments, strengthens security, and promotes equity across Nasarawa State.

He added that Wadada possesses the experience, federal connections, and credibility needed to lead the state successfully after Governor Abdullahi Sule’s tenure.
