Sanwo-Olu To Hold Strategic Meeting With APC Candidates Ahead Of Lagos Council Polls

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State is scheduled to convene a stakeholder engagement on Monday, aimed at boosting preparations for the forthcoming local government elections set for 12 July.

The state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) announced the development on Sunday in a statement issued by its spokesperson, Seye Oladejo.

According to Oladejo, the meeting—slated for midday at the State House, Marina—will bring together APC leaders, party officeholders, and candidates for chairmanship and councillorship positions.

“This engagement is a pivotal step in mobilising our political structures ahead of the elections,” he said.

Highlighting the APC’s track record at the grassroots level, Oladejo noted that Lagos residents continue to show confidence in the party due to its strides in local development, especially in sectors such as primary education, public health, housing, and social programmes.

“We believe that the electorate will once again endorse our candidates based on the visible impact made by our local councils,” he added.

The APC formally launched its election campaign last Tuesday by presenting party flags to its 433 candidates at an event held at the party’s state secretariat in Ogba.
