Rivers Governor Fubara Dumps PDP For APC, Credits Tinubu For His Position

Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has officially left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC), citing the PDP’s failure to protect the people of the state.

Speaking to stakeholders at Government House, Port Harcourt on Tuesday, Fubara emphasized that his continued tenure as governor is due to the support of President Bola Tinubu. He explained that a recent meeting with the President was a “state interest consultation,” during which he received approval to switch parties.

“The truth is that without Mr. President, there wouldn’t be any His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara. I would have been a former governor,” he said, stressing that the move to APC is backed by both the people and the President.
