Remittances To Bangladesh Surge

Bangladeshis living and working abroad remitted back more than four billion U.S, dollars in the July-August period, central bank data showed.
According to the data, remittance, one of the key sources of foreign exchange for the impoverished nation, surged 39 per cent year-on-year to 2.22 billion dollars in August.
Remittance was 1.91 billion dollars in July.
Remittances mainly come from Middle East countries, such as the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait.(Xinhua/NAN)
