Rangers Foundation Organises Community Match To Honour Christian Chukwu

The Rangers International Football Club Foundation (RIFC Foundation) says it has concluded arrangements to organise a community football match to honour country’s departed football legend, Christian Chukwu.

The Chairman of Rangers Foundation, Coach Ebere Amaraizu, in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday in Enugu, said that the community football match will be held on July 17.

Amaraizu said that the match would be between the Ex-Rangers International Football Club legendary players and the Nigeria Breweries PLC Staff football team.

“The match will take place at the Nigeria Breweries PLC Football Pitch, Ama, near 9th Mile Corner, Enugu.”

Amaraizu said that all Ex-Rangers players, who have represented the country and plied their football trade in Europe and in the Nigerian domestic leagues and other places, would attend the match.

According to him, the Foundation is keen at promoting community cohesion, resilience, social inclusions and integration for sustainable development especially within South-East communities and its environs.

“The Foundation will make use of the instrumentality of the match and other activities within its Sports-4-Development Programme, to help promote health and wellbeing, in line with its strategic goals.

“There will be a psychosocial engagement with both teams and others, to gain knowledge and insight on the prioritising of their mental health for general wellbeing.

“The community football match will foster atmospheric conditions for harmonious relationships,” he said.

Amaraizu also said that the foundation would be organising the match in partnership with Nigeria Breweries PLC, Silver Communications and Campus Technology Life Initiative (CTLI), among others. (NAN)
