“Prison Break: Seven Inmates Escape After Rain-Soaked Wall Collapse in Osun”

The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) has launched a manhunt for seven inmates who fled from the Medium Security Custodial Centre in Ilesa, Osun, following the collapse of the facility’s perimeter wall due to heavy rainfall.

In a statement released on Tuesday in Abuja, NCoS spokesman Abubakar Umar confirmed the incident. He stated that the Controller General of the NCoS, Sylvester Nwakuche, has initiated an immediate investigation into the breach.

The escape occurred around 2:00 a.m. on Tuesday, compromising the prison’s security measures. Umar noted that the NCoS is working closely with other security agencies and local leaders to apprehend the escapees.

“The NCoS is dedicated to ensuring that those who have escaped are returned to lawful custody. We are also taking steps to strengthen the security of the facility to prevent similar incidents in the future,” he remarked.

Umar encouraged the public to provide any credible information that could assist in the recapture efforts. He shared the NCoS Response Desk contact numbers: 07087086005, 09060004598, and 08075050006, urging anyone with relevant tips to reach out or contact local security authorities.
