President Tinubu Confirms Rescue Of 38 Abducted Worshippers And 51 Students

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has confirmed the successful rescue of 38 worshippers abducted in Eruku, Kwara State, and 51 students previously reported missing from a Catholic school in Niger State.

The President announced the development on his official X account on Sunday, attributing the outcome to days of intensified efforts by security agencies.

He noted that he had cancelled his scheduled trip to the G20 Summit in South Africa to personally coordinate the security response.

“Thanks to the efforts of our security forces over the last few days, all the 38 worshippers abducted in Eruku, Kwara State have been rescued. I am equally happy that 51 out of the missing students of the Catholic School in Niger State have been recovered,” he said.

Tinubu added that he continues to receive updates from the frontline and is closely monitoring the security situation nationwide.

“Let me be clear: I will not relent. Every Nigerian, in every state, has the right to safety — and under my watch, we will secure this nation and protect our people,” he affirmed.

The President reiterated his commitment to the ongoing security operations and the protection of all citizens across Nigeria.
