Police Refute Social Media Claims Of Fatal Ojo Incident

The Lagos State Police Command has refuted viral social media reports alleging that two officers, including the Divisional Police Officer of Ilemba-Hausa Division, were killed in a violent incident in Ojo.

The reports, accompanied by widely circulated videos, claimed the officers lost their lives during a peace meeting that escalated into a clash at Iyano.

However, police spokesperson SP Abimbola Adebisi, in a statement released on Tuesday, dismissed the claims as inaccurate. She confirmed that no officers or civilians were killed or injured in the incident.

Adebisi explained that police personnel responded promptly to the disturbance, successfully restoring calm. She added that security has since been reinforced in the area to prevent any further unrest.

She further noted that the videos circulating online were not connected to the situation in Ojo and should not be relied upon as evidence.

The command advised residents to rely on verified information from official sources and avoid spreading unconfirmed reports.

Reiterating its commitment to public safety, the police warned that misinformation could undermine security efforts and cause unnecessary panic among residents.
