Five young boys abducted from Maiduguri, Borno State, have been rescued by police in Adamawa after being found wandering the streets of Mubi town.
According to police spokesman SP Suleiman Nguroje, the children—aged between 10 and 16—were intercepted on 13 September following a tip-off. They have since been identified as residents of Gwange ward in Maiduguri.
Investigations point to a suspect, named as Aliga Suleiman, accused of unlawfully taking the children from Maiduguri. He remains at large, and police say efforts are underway to track him down.
The rescue follows a similar operation in July, when Adamawa Police reunited 13 abducted children with their families.
Police Commissioner Dankombo Morris praised the work of ACP Marcos Mancha and his team, and reiterated the command’s commitment to protecting vulnerable groups and ensuring justice for victims of abduction.
