Plateau PDP Members Rally, Ask Gov Mutfwang To Join Ruling APC

A group of Peoples Democratic Party members in Plateau State on Monday staged a peaceful rally in Jos calling on Governor Caleb Mutfwang to leave the party and join the All Progressives Congress.

The demonstrators, drawn from all 17 local government areas, said the political climate in both the state and the country required the governor to align with the party controlling the Federal Government. Former Jos South PDP chairman Dung Tari was among those who took part in the march.

Speaking during the rally, group leader Christopher Danjem said the move would position Plateau to benefit more significantly from national development programmes.

“The governor has shown commitment to good governance, and we believe he will achieve even more if he works more closely with President Bola Tinubu,” Danjem said. He added that joining the APC would enhance Plateau’s prospects of receiving additional federal support, particularly in addressing security concerns.

The protesters walked from Secretariat Junction to the Government House in Little Rayfield, where they presented a letter urging the governor to defect without delay.

Jeremiah Satmak, Chief of Staff to the Governor, received the letter and thanked the group for its solidarity. He assured them that their request would be forwarded to the governor and appealed for continued support and prayers for the administration.
