PDP South-East Caucus Engages NWC in Abuja Over Leadership Crisis

The South East Zonal Executive Committee (ZEC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is presently in a meeting with the National Working Committee (NWC) to tackle urgent issues threatening the party’s cohesion and stability.

The meeting commenced at 12:45 a.m. on Tuesday, chaired by the Deputy National Chairman (South), Taofeek Arapaja, representing the Acting National Chairman, Ambassador Iliya Umar Damagum.

Discussions were largely centred on the ongoing dispute concerning the role of National Secretary, with the South East ZEC firmly advocating for the endorsement of Hon. Sunday Udeh-Okoye for the position.

Prominent PDP members in attendance included the National Vice Chairman (South East), Ali Odefa; the National Woman Leader, Hon. Amina Darasimi Bryhm; the National Auditor, Okechukwu Obiechina Daniel; and several state chairmen, such as Chidi Chidebe from Anambra State and Dr. Martin Chukwunweike from Enugu State.

Also in attendance were Senator Col. Austin Akobundu (Abia Central), former National Woman Leader Iyom Josephine Anenih, and other significant stakeholders.
