Expressing satisfaction with the decision of the Senator Anyawu led faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that suspended the party’s National Chairman Umar Damagun and 5 others, a group under the auspices of Coalition of Northwestern State PDP Support Group has also demanded effective disciplnary action on them.
The PDP Coalition group in signed Press Statement by it’s President General, Dr Haruna Muh’d Ismail Gumel and the Secretary, Barr Ibrahim Hassan Jibia made available to journalists in Kaduna, maintained that, the party is on the right track to restoring it’s glory.
”The Suspension of National Chairman Mr Damagun and five others is commendable and timely, their exist has given more hope for our teeming members and supporters all over the country that better days are coming”, the coalition affirmed.
While stressing that the PDP’s National Ag Chairman, Muhammad should immediately summon an emergency NEC meeting to address some pressing issues arisen form the recent court Judgement that halts the National convention, the northwest coalition appealed that a disciplinary committee be constituted to invite suspended National chairman Damugun and the five others to appear before it for disciplinary actions.
The Coalition who accused Damagun for intentionally creating crisis in the PDP for reasons best known him and his co-travellers, further lauded the recent Federal High Court judgment that halted the upcoming National Convention of the party pending when the house is adequately in order.
“The judgement has again prove that things are wrong and need to be address for us to succeed as a political party”.
The PDP Northwest Coalition in their resolve, plegded
loyalty to the Acting National Chairman of the party Mr Muhammad Abdulkadir who was the National Vice chairman North central and urge him to use his vast experience and ensure justice is done to everyone and work for the return of the party’s lost glory.
The group also appreciated the both the National Secretary of PDP, Senator Samuel Anyanwu and the National Organizing Secretary, Mr Umar Muhammad Bature for saving the party from public disgrace, admonishing them not to be distracted by enemies who doesn’t mean good for the PDP.
The coalition however recommended that should the party want to want seamless success, then the National Ag Chairman must put a stop to all preparation for the Ibadan elective convention till internal crisis are resolved, constitute a reconciliation committee, zone the position of National chairman to Northwest and allow stakeholders from that zone to choose the best person for the job without interference.
