Osun Voter Registration Enters Second Phase With Mobile Devices

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has launched the second phase of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) in Osun State with the rotation of Voter Enrollment Devices (IVEDs) across all wards.

In a statement on Monday, Dr Mutiu Agboke, Osun’s Resident Electoral Commissioner, said the exercise is designed to make voter registration more accessible to eligible citizens at the grassroots level.

“The IVEDs will rotate through all wards in each local government area, allowing registrants to obtain Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and access other approved voter registration services conveniently,” Agboke said.

The exercise will run for 50 days, from 2 February until 10 April. The REC encouraged all eligible voters to visit the registration centres in their wards during this period.

Agboke also assured the public of INEC’s commitment to a transparent, inclusive and credible registration process. He added that a detailed schedule of device rotation will be published to facilitate public monitoring and called for the support of stakeholders to ensure the success of the exercise.
